"Bruin Right - Black Bear"

Like many wildlife sightings, bears can be a fleeting glimpse that quickly vanish into thick underbrush. Although this piece is done in a more contemporary style, I chose to portray this element with ethereal, mist like brushstrokes. Balancing darker colors on the left with the impact of the actual bear on the right. This particular bear was photographed near Upper Michigan's Porcupine Mountains Wilderness State Park. Although this bear has been featured in a few of my works, this is the first time I've worked on a canvas with these dimensions. The final outcome of these variables creates "Bruin Right - Black Bear".
