Arctic Emissary - Snowy Owl

With this piece I wanted to convey an apparition like, ethereal sensibility. A brilliant moment, with lighting and contrast center stage and details a bit more vague. Much like a spectacular memory.
As I write this, much of the upper Midwest and East (USA) is undergoing an "arctic owl" invasion. These occur on average around every four years. Snowy Owls are definitely the stars of this occurrence, but Great Greys are equally spectacular to me. I took the reference photo for this one last year in Duluth Harbor (MN, USA). They almost always get a few every winter. Always a thrill to encounter this "Arctic Emissary".
